I’m New to Faith

Salvation

We believe that God created the world and everything in it, including you, and He wants to begin a personal, one-on-one relationship with you today.

It Starts With Jesus

God, the Creator of the universe, has a purpose for you and your life. He loves you and wants to help you because He is a good God. And because of that, His plans are better than your plans. You don’t have to measure up to some impossible religious standard to know Him. You just have to take a few simple steps.

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.
— John 14:6

If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,‘ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
— Romans 10:9

You don't have to be perfect. Through His death on the cross, and then coming back from the dead, Jesus took all of your wrong and gave you all of His right. If you believe that and commit to following Him, your life will never be the same. It’s as simple as repenting of your sin, declaring you want to follow Jesus, and believing He is who He says He is.

Believing in Jesus is the first step on the greatest journey of your life. You haven’t finished the race—you’ve just gotten started. The best is yet to come!

Baptism

If you've made the decision to follow Jesus, or have questions, we’d love to talk with you. We want to help you take your next step and learn to follow Jesus.

Baptism is an exciting moment for a follower of Jesus Christ. It is an outward sign that a person has entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It symbolizes what took place inwardly at the time of salvation:

  • Acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior;

  • Sharing in His death and resurrection; and

  • Being symbolically washed clean.

Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized, baptism is also an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

— Matthew 28:19-20

Next Steps

  • Read your Bible — Reading your Bible daily is an important part of your new faith. The Bible has answers to your questions.

  • Pray daily — Prayer is talking to God. Even if you don’t know what to say, just tell God what’s on your mind and thank Him for all He is doing in your life.

  • Join a small group — Joining a group is a great way to connect with other believers in a fun, comfortable setting.

  • Worship every Sunday — Worship is our way of celebrating God for who He is and all He is doing.
